APP has more than ten years experience from design and operation of Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS). APP's Air Pollution Control systems have been running on APP's own power supplies since the start, and many customers are familiar with the HPV 12-40 and MP 30-50 series.
In 2008 we introduced the new ModupowerTM product line; a modern solution to power electrostatic precipitators and other equipment requiring high voltage and current. ModupowerTM, with its modular design, has voltage outputs from 30 to 120 kV. Power rating is unlimited in multiples of 30 kW. The first large scale ModupowerTM, with a nominal capacity of 360 kW at 120 kV, has been running at a large ESP at the Eramet TTI plant in Tyssedal, Norway, since mid September 2008, typically running at approx 80 kV and 2 400 mA.
